Residents and local tourists make the most of Galungan holiday by visiting the popular spot, Kebun Raya Eka Karya or the Bali Botanical Garden today in Bedugul Tabanan regency, about 60 KM from Denpasar, Bali Indonesia.
According to the manager of Bali Botanical Garden, the cool-air spot has been flooded by visitors since this morning, either using a two or four-wheeled personal vehicle. Actually, the apparent increase in traffic started since last Eid holiday last week and reached its peak today, when Hindus celebrate Galungan which is usually filled with a trip to a vacation place.
"We forecast the total visit today could be reaching 8,000 people," said Head of Information Services of Bali Botanical Garden, Henry Sujarwo when contacted on Thursday (30/08/2012).
In the normal holiday, tourist traffic usually reached 1,000 people. However, today is really surprising with increased guests significantly, mainly dominated by domestic tourists. Meanwhile, regular day time from Monday to Friday, tourists visit only about 200 people.
Here, tourists can enjoy the beauty of thousands of tree species, some of them are rare trees. Cool climate region botanical garden often becomes tourist destination in Bali, in addition to enjoying the beaches. Ticket cost to enter the place was as low as Rp7, 000 per head.
To provide different atmosphere than before, the Bali Botanical Garden has opened a new attraction object, called Dinosaur Park since last July. Here, visitors are invited to look closely various species of moss that has historical significance as the human civilization.
"We prepare various mosses as pioneer plants, which during ancient times, they have been lived long," added Henry.
In addition to give a different feel, as it passed in the street entered the botanical garden, the bolder (garden center), has planted new species. Every six months, plants and a variety of flowers were changed so as not to bore visitors.
